UPDATE
Surrey Minerals Plan Amendments to
core strategy March 2008
The Surrey Minerals Plan identifying preferred
options (including Watersplash Farm) was published in April 2006.
The Government has now decided that this plan should
include other non-aggregate minerals.
Because of this new requirement, the date for submission of the draft plan has
been put back and the overall timeframe for the Plan is to be revised.
The life of the Minerals Plan (MWDS) is now
intended to extend to at least 2020 (originally published as 2016).
It is suggested that Surrey’s sand and gravel
is likely to be reduced but that all preferred areas are to be retained for the present.
The revised plan will now
be submitted to the Government in July 2009.
Public examination by independent inspector
is scheduled for February 2010 and adoption of the Minerals Plan in September
2010.
SSAGE will continue to oppose the inclusion of Watersplash
Farm in the Plan at the public examination and will object to any planning application made in connection with the site.
Further information is available on the SCC website, www.surreycc.gov.uk/mineralsplan
SSAGE would like to thank the residents of Sunbury
and Shepperton who have contributed their time and energy to the campaign. In particular, the members of the SSAGE
committee and LOSRA.

Council turn this….
